Well I guess I won't be reading your article then.

The way so many web sites are now banning whole parts of the world is killing the Internet.

That seems excessive. In many parts of the world, WhatsApp is the default app for texting people (ie the one you use to contact a plumber or a restaurant) and not having it means the phone fails at its most basic requirements.

I’ve seen businesses try to push that here. It’s surprising how fast they can suddenly respond to other forms of communication when money is involved.

People tell me this all the time. Yet I've never had a WhatsApp account and I do just fine.

The only problems I've had were a single barber that accepts reservations over WhatsApp exclusively - so I go to the barber two shops over and don't need a reservation. And some women from dating apps refuse to talk on the phone before talking over WhatsApp. That's fine, there are plenty of fish in that sea.

It blows my mind that a bunch of adults, prosecutors, CPS employees, etc all decided the fair, reasonable and best thing to do was prosecute and punish this mother.

Sometimes the government feels like it needs to make an example. And once the government decides something like this, they can't back down, so they have to march forward. No matter how bad it looks.

Sounds like there is very little crime happening in their precious gated community that they've got to trump up everything they can to justify the budget wasted on them

I live in this neighborhood. I was just kvetching to my wife this morning about how our HOA wastes so much money on excess. That had me in the wrong (or right?) mood to read this.

I will say, we have a LOT of elderly retired people who live here. It's not uncommon to hear sirens because someone is having a medical episode, and the security office is helpful with responding to those and helping with EMS. They are also helpful for doing well checks on the elderly when they haven't been responsive to others.

That being said, a lot of what they do is run radar and evidently do absolutely atrocious behavior like this. One of the flip sides of the retired population is that many of them devote their lives to reporting their neighbors to The Authorities – generally the HOA or security office. In this case, I guess the informant went straight to the cops.

Prosecuting people is their job. If you don't do your job you get fired.

From my understanding this one is used for hiring tech workers only. The (very) widely used Workday application system for ex seems to have its own built-in ATS.

I try to stick to plain HTML5 / Javascript validation. Trying to not reinvent the wheel and use what the browser already has built-in seems best.

I use a plain Firefox on a plain Windows 11 PC on a plain regular mass market ISP in a developed country and I get completely blocked by websites daily.

At least let me complete a "prove you are human" challenge or something, but don't outright ban my IP address?
