How could you possibly label the Iranian war so far a genocide?

The word genocide is currently undergoing semantic bleaching (https://www.merriam-webster.com/grammar/very-actually-and-ot...). It's too powerful a word for propagandists/activists to resist beating it into oblivion in the service of their causes.

Targeting civilians, hospitals, and food distribution networks is just normal warfare! Israel has a right to defend itself! Their land was promised to us thousands of years ago, and they have no right living on it!

"Time for bridge and powerplant day! A whole civilization dies tonight!"

That’s fair as a very troubling threat. So far it hasn’t materialized. Seems to be the boy who cried wolf.

I think you picked the wrong analogy. The US threatened unjustifiable acts targeting civilian population & infrastructure, and to a degree has followed through - for example bombing water facilities: https://www.yahoo.com/news/politics/articles/us-bombs-iran-w...

Its goal to protect the American citizen is fulfilled by economic security. If you let your industries leave, you have done a disservice to your citizens. That’s how trump got elected in the first place, and ironically it’ll only get worse because it’s the wrong solution.

Are there not 10x the need of software engineers compared to other engineers, particularly in the US?

It would seem there are! The question is: Will there continue to be?

Except that’s clearly not the case here.

Photo indexing is already local. What specifically are you looking for?

Let’s say it gets to the point that we reach superintelligence. All previous puzzles can be solved. But should they? Once you solve them, it’s done. What’s left? And where’s the fun and humanity?

The Olympics exist because we want to see human skill, even though jet planes exist.

Right. The existence of jet planes doesn't invalidate Olympics. Why would the existence of machine solutions invalidate human puzzle solving?

Because this was a mystery. The other replies seem to be missing that point. It’s similar to the issue that mathematicians are having in their field right now.

No one is saying you can’t solve puzzles that have already been solved. If you love solving puzzles, then whether it has been solved doesn’t seem all that important.

Indeed no one forces you to look up the solution.

I disagree, but if you and others choose to untether from our plain for these reasons, I’m totally fine representing the human traits that remain here and pass my remain traits on

What are you talking about?

I think they are referring to the Apple Watch 12 & 4 ultra feature announced yesterday. But I will note they are not on by default and has several configuration options.

I really like the way they look. Taste is subjective and. It absolute. Some people even like the cybertruck.

What makes it sound fake?

The public confession of a crime part.

What about OpenAI’s breach of huggingface?

The fact that they apparently attempted to sandbox those tests would seem to be a clear difference between the two cases.

Fair point

They admitted it once they were forced (HF found out about it).

I’m confused. I thought it was being only rolled out to select partners for now?
