Isn't the article about obtaining root from an unprivileged app? The recent GhostLock exploit is potentially usable for this purpose, for instance.

Android allows apps to read from the clipboard at will, though it does show a toast. GrapheneOS, I believe, asks for permission first.

Thankfully iOS rolled out a permissions prompt for this. Pretty illuminating just how often other apps read the clipboard, e.g. Google Maps reading my clipboard every time I tapped on the text field to search for a destination.

Wall, you can't tell if they're ignoring it, but it's fairly easy to show they're manipulating it. So a cut-and-dry demonstration is worse than a strong suspicion.

One has to remember they're crooks through and through. They're doing it by retoggling the checkbox because it offers them plausible deniability.

"Oh, side effect of a recent update, silly us, we'll improve QA, sorry !".

Or "once again our all-powerful models got away from us ! they did it themselves, the little scamps".

Sounds more like implausible deniability.

I don't think that follows. You can doomscroll at any screen size, small or big. If they don't fit in your pockets, it's probably harder to doomscroll on the phone, not easier.

It does follow. A bigger screen is more addictive.

I actually read more ebooks with a foldable. It gives me more functional options for entertainment other than doomscrolling. Videos are also obviously better on the inner screen.

How? Most foldables I've seen have an inner screen with a ratio so bad that the full screen video results in mostly black bars and the image is barely bigger than watching it on the outside screen.

Some foldables do have poor ratios, admittedly, but none of the ratios are so bad that I've seen that you get a smaller picture in practice than a standard smart phone.

Isn't that somewhat pointless if you don't also regularly rotate your ip address?

On the other hand, I use Thumb Key (https://github.com/dessalines/thumb-key) and think Unexpected Keyboard doesn't go far enough.
